It’s all about the music on Friday night in Edgewater as the second annual Bands On Broadway event promises an entertaining night and an opportunity for residents to stroll the street and visit area businesses.

Bands On Broadway takes place Friday, July 26 from 7p.m. – 9p.m. on Broadway from Devon to Balmoral and is produced by the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce (ECC). At 11 different restaurants along the route, acoustic bands will set up shop on outdoor patios and sidewalks to showcase their musical talents as people wine and dine during the evening.

“We produce Bands on Broadway as part of our effort to enliven Broadway,” said Katrina Balog, Executive Director of ECC. “We want more walking traffic on Broadway and this is a great event to get people out and enjoy the sidewalk cafes in Edgewater.”

Adding to the festive evening, the candidates for the first Edgewater Pet Mayor competition will be on hand to add to the evening. Expect to see Pax the Goat, Titus the cat and all four dogs Wrigley, Winston, Ballew and Bug roaming the street.

This Friday also kicks off ECC’s shop local promotion at EdgeFest. People who spend $30 or more at a local Edgewater business from July 26 – August 4 can bring their receipt to the Chamber table at EdgeFest and receive a token for a free beer.

“Last year it was great to see so many people out on a summer night enjoying live music in Edgewater,” Balog added. “The participating restaurants reported busier than average nights which was great!”

With a beautiful night expected, music will be in the air this Friday in Edgewater.
