Armed Robber Caught With Tracked Proceeds After Hitting Andersonville Business

An armed robbery occurred on the Andersonville strip Monday morning. The suspect walked out of the business with an undisclosed amount of goods and/or money.

According to an emailed release by Ald. Pat O’Connor, the robbery took place around 11 a.m. in the morning at the AT&T store located at 5601 N. Clark. Officers responded to a hold up alarm at the business and were given a detailed description of the suspect.

Commander Loughran of the 20th District police told the Alderman that they were immediately able to track the proceeds from the robbery which ultimately led to the suspect’s arrest. All proceeds were recovered. No other information was given about the situation as it is still pending investigation.

The alderman added that armed robbery charges are currently pending and expect to be approved.
