Andersonville Walgreens Shoplifter Arrested After Alleged Knife Threat To Employee

A man has been arrested after shoplifting at an Andersonville Walgreens, then allegedly threatening to stab an employee who caught him in the act.

The incident occurred at the Walgreens store at 5440 N. Clark on Tuesday afternoon around 2 p.m. The suspect, 44-year-old Timothy Marion of the 2700 block of N. Hoyne (Lathrop Homes Housing Project), was caught putting merchandise into his backpack by the store manager.

According to Chicago police, when the employee approached Marion he pulled out a knife and said ““walk away… I’ll stab you.” The suspect left the store but was apprehended just a block away by officers. After patting down Marion, they found a knife in his pants pocket. He was then taken into custody.

Police also say Marion has 13 prior convictions in his past and that he is a documented member of the Black P-Stones street gang.

Marion is charged with a Class X felony armed robbery and is being held without bail.
