Li’l Buds Theatre Gives Kids A Chance To Become The Next Big Thing

LilWhat a great idea! Have selected stories from Chicago area second graders turned into short plays that will be performed by professional actors. It all happens Nov. 1, 2014 at Senn High School and the audience will be able to pick the winning entry which will be adapted to an original one-act play to be produced in Li’l Bud Theatre’s Spring 2016 season.

The selected stories by Joseph Clayton, Isabella Concepcion, Ethan Laughlin and Annika Sahrawat give them a chance to be recognized for the first time and encourage them for future masterpieces. Li’l Bud Theatre’s new space is expected to open Winter 2015. A fresh, new space for fresh, new talent! Below is all the information:

A night of original short plays inspired by stories written by second graders from the Frances Xavier Warde School and performed by professional actors. These hysterical fast paced short plays will engage and entertain audiences of all ages.

King LaLa’s Adventure inspired by Joseph Clayton

Super Spy World inspired by Isabella Concepcion

The Dragon and the Princess inspired by Ethan Laughlin

Mysterious Thought Land inspired by Annika Sahrawat

At the end of the night the audience will vote for their favorite play which will be adapted by Li’l Buds and expanded into an original one-act play to be produced in our Spring 2016 season at our new home the EDGE Theatre which is expected to open in the winter of 2015. You will have the opportunity to contribute your own creative ideas! You will have a say in creating a new play!

 Transportation and Parking: There is free parking at Senn High School parking lot, the lot is only accessible off of Thorndale Avenue, which runs one way. CTA Red Line Bryn Mawr or Thorndale stops. CTA Busses #84 Peterson, #22 Clark, or #36 Broadway. The theatre is handicap accessible.
