Vote for New Mural at CTA Thorndale Station
February 15, 2014 / By Keely JonesChicago is a city that is known for all kinds of amazing art in public spaces. From Pilsen’s murals, to Millennium Park’s famous Bean, to every amazing piece you will find along the lake shore, we seem to have plenty to marvel at. Edgewater will be getting another addition to our community with a new mural! In a collaboration between Green Star Movement, After School Matters, and the 48th ward, the Thorndale CTA station will be installing a mural on the south wall located close to the bike racks in the upcoming spring. The Green Star Movement has done several mural projects in Chicago neighborhood’s that have revitalized urban elements that were once bland, concrete and mundane. With all of the recent renovations that have taken place along many of the CTA stops, this will add color and energy to the Thorndale stop and enliven a corridor that is undergoing a great deal of transition. Alderman of the 48th Ward, Harry Osterman invites residents to vote on which mural they would like to see come the spring of 2014. Click here to vote!
