Man Robs 3 Edgewater Business At Gunpoint Over 2 Days

Police have issued a community alert for the Edgewater area after a man robbed three Edgewater businesses at gunpoint on Sunday and Monday.

The first incident occurred on Sunday morning Nov. 25 at 12:09 a.m. The suspect held up the 7-Eleven at 1055 W. Bryn Mawr. The man; who was wearing a red stocking cap, black coat and brown pants, demanded money from a clerk after pointing a gun at him. He took off with $150 in cash and headed westbound on Bryn Mawr.

The second incident happened later on Sunday at 5:10 p.m. at the Andersonville Walgreens at 5440 N. Clark. He again held up a clerk at gunpoint and demanded money. He grabbed money and fled eastbound on Catalpa.

The suspect made a third robbery on Monday Nov. 26 at 9:05 p.m. at the Pizza Hut at 5320 N. Broadway. He again pointed the gun at the cashier and demanded cash. He stole $180 in cash and fled northbound on Broadway.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, 35-45 years of age, 5’10”-6’02”, 175 -200 lbs., bald hair style, blue eyes, light complexion wearing a black puffy coat, black pants and white gym shoes.
