Andersonville takes its food very seriously. With one of the most diverse blend of eateries in Chicago, this year’s annual Dinner Crawl is ready to take on attendees appetites with some amazing options.
The yearly Andersonville Dinner crawl has become a ‘taste of Andersonville’, bringing together a variety of area restaurants and giving participants a chance to sample a little of everything. The event, which is hosted by the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce (ACC) will take place Wednesday, August 9 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
According to an ACC press release, as many as 600 are expected to attend this year’s crawl. There will be two curated routes, the Golden Spoon and the Silver Spoon, each containing eleven venues where guests can sample small plates of the restaurant’s offerings. For those hungry foodies, an option called ‘The Works’ gains you access to all 22 locations.
“We are delighted to see new Andersonville restaurants on the route this year with menu offerings that include decadent donuts at recently opened Dollop Diner, and Bar Roma’s mouth-watering meatball,” said Laura Austin, the crawl’s event director and ACC’s Community and Events Manager.
The crawl has partnered with the Andersonville Farmer’s Market this year and two of the regular vendors will be adding to the mix. Long Table Pancakes will be offering pancake skewers at the market which is located on Berwyn between Clark and Ashland, and Amazing Kale Burger will have their sliders at a pop-up eatery at The Guesthouse Hotel. And for all those vegetarians folks, options will be made available.
Check-in for the Dinner Crawl will begin at 4 p.m on August 9 at the Swedish American Museum (5211 N. Clark). Tickets can be purchased online at andersonville.org until August 9 at Noon. If available, additional day-of tickets will be sold starting at 4 p.m. at the Swedish American Museum. Proceeds support the ongoing programing of the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce.
What is a bit of fun without a good cause. ACC will donate $1 of every ticket sold to Edgewater’s Care for Real to support the neighborhood food pantry.
