Andersonville Italian Restaurant Closes Its Doors

After five years serving the Andersonville area authentic Italian food, a popular eatery closed its doors for the last time on Easter Sunday. Though the name was not so great, many residents will miss the great food at Johnny Brown Bag at 5406 N. Clark.

The owners, who also own Via Carducci La Sorella in Wicker Park, posted a sign in front of the business that thanked the neighborhood for several years of memories.

“It is with great sadness that we are announcing that 04/16/2017 will be our last day. We unfortunately will be closing our doors,” said a post on the business’ Facebook page. “We would like to thank everyone in the neighborhood and all our customers for all the extreme love and support you have given us throughout the years! We’ll miss you!! It’s been a great 5 years here in Andersonville.”

According to a story on Chicago Eater, the space had been on the real estate market for time, but is now listed as “off market.” This may suggest that there is a new business in the works.
