Andersonville Cafe Wins $10K Brand Makeover In National Competition

AlphaGraphics’s Rob Halverson and First Slice’s Ann-Louise Haak

A well known Andersonville cafe has beaten out several hundred businesses from across the nation and earned itself a $10,000 business makeover courtesy of full-service print and marketing shop, AlphaGraphics, and branding, marketing and public relations agency, AWE Collective.

First Slice Cafe at 5357 N. Ashland has been serving up some of the best pie in Chicago while also helping feed 700 hungry people in need every week through their self-funded charity. Their unique business model caught the eyes of those choosing between a multitude of entrees into the national competition.

“What they’re doing at First Slice to feed the area’s hungry is truly revolutionary,” said AlphaGraphics Chicago Owner Rob Halverson and Andersonville neighbor. “They’re using their talents to help struggling families get food on the table, and they’re also offering hospitality-oriented career training for the people they serve.”

According to a press release, First Slice Cafe Andersonville will receive a comprehensive business makeover and brand refresh. As the interior space is updated over the next month, the business will receive everything needed to make a great impression including wall, window and floor graphics, banners, menu boards and floor decals.

“It still hasn’t sunk in yet that we won, and that we’ll be able to do so much more for our community,” said First Slice Executive Director Ann-Louise Haak. “One of our main goals is to draw as much attention as possible to who we are and what we do, and this brand makeover is a really remarkable way to help get the word out.”

If you are interested to see how the final brand makeover will look, a rebrand reveal is planned soon at First Slice Cafe.
