While the chef is away…the sous chef will play
With the menu, that is. Gaztro Wagon sous chef Christian Behr has been busy whipping up some tasty weekly specials in the kitchen, but you won’t find them on the popular truck.
While the spotlight frequently shines on Gaztro Wagon owner and Chicago food truck legend Matt Maroni, Behr quietly operates as the “behind the scenes guy.” He’s been there from the begining, and is no stranger to the restaurant scene. The once architectural and aerial photographer originally began working as a cook to put himself through college, but then returned to the kitchen after realizing that photography wasn’t for him. He attended Kendall College and has worked at such venues as Magnolia Cafe in Uptown, Mana Food Bar and Tre Kronor. Behr and other employees have used their culinary skills to create these new ideas as another way to lure people into the storefront located at 5973 N Clark. They’re available during the week (Tuesday – Friday) from 11am – 9pm, and on Saturday from 11am – 8pm. Check them out!
