The SoFo Tap Spooktacular Benefit Event

The SoFo Tap presents the latest installment of Mark Ortega and Friends as they kick off Halloween weekend with “The SoFo Tap Spooktacular” on Thursday, October 27th, starting at 8:30 p.m. 2011 Windy City Gay Idol TJ Chernick and Idol Finalists Christine Lawal and James Gavin will join Mark Ortega for a night of fun entertainment to benefit The Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN).

“I can’t think of a better way to help LGBT organizations in our community than by offering a night of exciting entertainment for a great cause,” says Mark Ortega, founder and producer of Mark Ortega and Friends.
TPAN empowers people living with HIV through peer-led programming, support services, information dissemination, and advocacy. TPAN also provides services to the broader community to increase HIV knowledge and sensitivity, and to reduce the risk of infection. See www.TPAN.com.
The SoFo Tap is no stranger to offering live entertainment to raise funds for causes. Past shows have benefited Howard Brown Health Center, Team to End AIDS and The Trevor Project. “We are committed to supporting important groups like TPAN and look forward to a fun night with Mark Ortega and Friends,” adds Mike Sullivan, one of the owners of The SoFo Tap.

Windy City Gay Idol is the 9-year-old annual contest which seeks out the city’s best LGBT singers and is sponsored by Windy City Media Group, publishers of Windy City Times, Nightspots and Windy City Queercast. See www.windycitymediagroup.com.
Mark Ortega and Friend’s “The SoFo Tap Spooktacular” will be held on Thursday, October 27th from 8:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. at The SoFo Tap, 4923 N. Clark St. The night will feature some of the best LGBT vocal performances. Britney Warren will also join the Idols.
