Though many residents worry about the decline of safety in many Chicago neighborhoods, it seems as though Andersonville is doing pretty well in lower crime statistics.

Gathering their data from niche.com (who gave the neighborhood an A+ rating for its public schools, crime/safety, housing, nightlife, families appeal and diversity), Zumper.com put out a list of the top 10 safest neighborhoods in Chicago. Among those who ranked, Andersonville placed #6. Edison Park was #1.

According to the data, Andersonville’s violent crimes are 82% below the city average and property crimes are 45% below the city average. There are 15 violent crimes per 10k residents, 163 property crimes per 10k residents.

The article describes Andersonville as trendier, saying it is: “A diverse community, with a strong LGBT presence. Andersonville has become a very popular neighborhood in recent years.  A hipper vibe characterizes this area relative to the quieter Edison Park and Forest Glen.”

Zumper is an apartment rental website which enables its users to search through real, live-time listings across the USA. The site was founded in 2012 by real estate agents Anthemos Georgiades and Taylor Glass-Moore.

Here is the complete list of neighborhoods that were ranked by Zumper:
