Gourmet Pizza And More Are On The Menu At New Italian Eatery On Thorndale
August 25, 2017 / By Edgeville BuzzIt was a big move for Bianca Ganvik and her Apart pizza business, but luckily her new rebranded eatery is remaining in Edgewater and will allow her to expand her menu offerings.
The new restaurant called VeRanda at 1100 W. Thorndale moves her just down the street from the old location at 5624 N. Broadway. It officially opened this month and gives her customers more space to sit and additional food options.
The cozy inside is loaded with vintage furniture and local artwork which is for sale. Outside is a big outdoor patio which overlooks the corner of Thorndale and Winthrop.
The main item on the menu is still pizza, but it is done in Ganvik’s own gourmet style. Goat cheese, arugula and roma tomatoes are some of the delicious ingredients in the signature pizzas such as the tricolore and capra options. VeRanda has also added salads and specialty Italian sandwiches to the menu.
“Life’s short. Eat dessert!,” the menu states. So a daily assortment of pastries are available including the Sweet VeRanda which is baked homemade dough filled with Nutella, topped with powdered sugar and choice of fruit. Gourmet coffee is also offered.
According to the company’s website, VeRanda offers both take out and delivery as well. They are open Sunday through Wednesday from 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday 6 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Tonight is Dining Out For Swift at VeRanda. 10% of all proceeds will go to Swift School.
