Dressing Swedish: New Exhibit at The Swedish American Museum

Dressing Swedish

Dressing Swedish

Currently running at Andersonville’s Swedish American Museum is the ‘Dressing Swedish‘ exhibit. The exhibit is an extensive collection of Swedish costumes that represent the diversity of clothing both in the current day and from the past. With a focus on Swedish-American culture, the exhibit displays how Swedish heritage is created and re-created throughout history. Our clothes offer us the daily opportunity to pick and choose how we want the world to see us. This exhibit explores what it means to dress and embody Swedish culture both in our every day attire, as well as during specific holidays. The outfits and pieces offer us a chance to think about and explore how Swedish elements can get represented in our clothes. The exhibit runs now through February 23. Stop on by!
