Big Weekend In Our Community, Fall Art Fair and Edgewater 5K Run/Walk
September 24, 2014 / By Daniel ZagottaThis weekend is an incredible weekend to be in Edgewater. After months of planning, we anticipate two big events in the neighborhood.
First, the Fall Arts Fair gets the weekend off right this Saturday and Sunday. Celebrating their second year, Edgewater Artists in Motion are anticipating a great turn out. Located on Granville between Broadway and Kenmore, the event takes place both days 11am-6pm. Admission is $5 with proceeds going to fund future cultural initiatives in the community. Alderman Harry Osterman’s office released an email today saying, “The Arts continue to grow and thrive in the 48th Ward, from new theater companies choosing to locate here to new public art projects coming to life throughout the community. The Edgewater Fall Art Fair is another example of Edgewater being a vibrant home and destination for the Arts.” The fair will include:

Second, the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce comes together with Alderman Harry Osterman, Star Events, and 11 local schools for this Sunday’s first annual Edgewater Back To School 5k Run/Walk. It is an event for the whole family, even the pooch can take part. The race starts 8 a.m. at Granville and Kenmore. The cost is $45/person; $135/family of four. For more information or to register, go to edgewater.org/5k. A portion of the money will go to the participant’s school of choice.
