Baker And Nosh Closes Original Store As They Expand Into New Locations

Starting today, the original Baker and Nosh at 1303 W. Wilson Ave. is officially closed. It first opened five years ago, but with the tremendous success the store has received it is time to move on with some big plans.

The new Uptown store, which should open late next month, will be located just a short distance away at 4600 N. Magnolia Ave. The new Magnolia space will be larger than the old one and include a spacious outdoor patio, a larger selection of grab-and-go items and a La Colombe Draft Latte station.

“It’s with a mixture of sadness and excitement that we announce Wednesday we will have baked for the last time in our current location,” Baker and Nosh said in a Facebook post.  “Sadness because we’ve loved the location of our little bakery on the corner of Wilson and Malden for the past five years; excitement because today begins our move to our new locations – one just a block away on Magnolia.”

Baker and Nosh owners Bill Millholland and Terry Groff will also expand into their new location at 5600 N. Ridge Ave. The Edgewater location is expected to open this summer and will offer a 2,000 sq ft space and room for 50 seats which will allow for a more efficient layout, making it much easier for folks in a rush to stop by the bakery for coffee and a pastry to-go.

“Unfortunately closing this location and opening the two new ones didn’t exactly coincide; there’s still a bit of unavoidable and frustrating delay,” The Facebook post continued. The owners apologized for little notice but are working quickly to open their new locations.
