New Sci-Fi Movie Filming In Edgewater, Expect Street Closures Through Tuesday

filmingA new science fiction film is set to begin filming in the Edgewater Beach area starting tonight.

The film titled “Captive State” is set to be released next year and stars Vera Farmiga, Ashton Sanders and  John Goodman. According to IMBD, the movie is ‘Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force, Captive State explores the lives on both sides of the conflict – the collaborators and dissidents.’

According to a statement by Alderman Harry Osterman, The Nine Productions, LLC is in charge of the filming and will be using many locations in the neighborhood requiring them to park the necessary vehicles and equipment. Expect the following street closures: 

MONDAY, MARCH 6, 5 p.m. to TUESDAY, MARCH 7, 10 p.m.

EAST SIDE of Broadway from Balmoral to Foster

BOTH SIDES of Bryn Mawr from Winthrop west to EL Train

NORTH SIDE of Berwyn from Broadway to Winthrop

 

FULL ALLEY CLOSURE: TUESDAY, MARCH 7, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

First alley west of Winthrop from Bryn Mawr to Catalpa

First alley west of Winthrop from Balmoral to Berwyn

 

INTERMITTENT STREET CLOSURE: TUESDAY, MARCH 7, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On Berwyn from Broadway to Winthrop

On Balmoral from Broadway to Winthrop

On Catalpa from Broadway to Winthrop
