Sheridan High-Rise Fire Injures One, Second Blaze There In 5 Months

5858SheridanA man was injured in a high-rise fire at 5858 N. Sheridan Rd. yesterday. The victim, probably in his 20s, was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital in fair condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The fire was reported around 12:40 p.m. on the 6th floor of the 12-story building. It was quickly extinguished and the situation was secure by 1:10 p.m. The building was not evacuated and the incident is currently under investigation.

The 5858 Sheridan Rd. high-rise named ‘Shore Manor’ had just seen another fire on the 3rd floor only five months ago. The previous incident occurred at 4 a.m. on December 15, 2014. Two people were treated at the scene but refused to be taken to a hospital. The family cat died in the blaze.
