Maybe Metra can buy the land and use it for as a parking lot for their riders when they start to create the Peterson/Ridge Metra stop.

Those of us who live behind the old Carson's are anxious to see something done there as well, but keep in mind the neighborhood south of Ridge can't support much more traffic much less any parking. Paulina is a narrow one way street with parking poor apartment buildings and condos. Its a hard to develop spot because as walkable distance as it is for the dense residential neighborhood nearby, there is very limited foot traffic because the Ridge-Clark intersection is predestrian hostile. Something car based seems likely but runs the risk of compounding that strip mall feel of the intersection. More fast food? We we're hoping for something that would involve tearing down the White Castle next door not replicating it, but I suppose if a fast food franchise is hot for the spot the choice won't be ours. + 1

There were plans for a Metra stop to built at Ridge and Peterson which is just down the street a couple of blocks. If that is really going to happen ( Not sure it will) that would make that spot even more valuable. Whatever goes there may cause parking issues for residents along Paulina. I hope the powers that be will remember this and make that block of Paulina a permit only parking street.

Let’s see, what would go good here? TJ’s? Lot is probably too small. Maybe a… hardware store? Hmm, the Ace down the street just closed up. Garden shop? Oh no, not with Gethsemane right there. Too big for a flower store. Maybe, hmm, a restaurant of some kind? What sort of food is Edgewater really lacking though? We’ve got pretty much everything… except… I’ve got it! A barbeque rib joint!!
