New Edgewater Irish Pub Gracie O’Malley’s Opens Second Wicker Park Location

A new Irish pub that opened in Edgewater in the beginning of June has opened a larger business with the same name in Wicker Park.

Since taking over the old Norse Bar at 6334 N. Clark in early June of this year, Gracie O’Malley’s has brought to the area a new bar that offers a variety of beverage choices including craft beer by the can and a selection of specialty cocktails that include mojitos and Irish mules.

But one Gracie O’Malley’s tavern in Chicago did not make do. The Irish pub style sports bar is celebrating the opening of a new second location in Wicker Park at 1635 N. Milwaukee. The larger venue will have an expanded bar and is equipped with a kitchen that will serve up standard pub fare, sandwiches and burgers.

Both bars are inspired by the legend of medieval Irish Pirate Queen, Grace O’Malley. They feature a host of bar games such as steel-tip darts, pop-a-shot, and golden tee. Numerous flat screen TVs with state-of-the-art sound systems regularly show current sports programming.

The Wicker Park grand opening will be this weekend, October 4-6. Celebrations include passed appetizers on Friday from 7-8 p.m. and the Bears game on Sunday at Noon with industry night that evening.
