Edgewater CTA Red Line Stations Will Be Closed On Weekends For Several Weeks

If you were planning to ride the CTA red line this weekend you may want to reconsider transportation as most stations in Edgewater will be closed for scheduled work.

The project will disrupt service Jan. 17-19 at the Bryn Mawr, Thorndale and Granville and each weekend thereafter for about six weeks. The stations will close on Friday 10 p.m and continue through Monday 4 a.m.

The only Edgewater station to remain open will be at Berwyn. Those affected by the closures will have the option to ride a CTA bus shuttle via Broadway between Loyola and Berwyn making regular stops at Bryn Mawr, Thorndale, and Granville.

According to the CTA, they will be performing track and signal construction in preparation for the Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) project.
