Andersonville’s The T-Shirt Deli Set To Close This Month

Opening their first location in Bucktown in 2003, The T-Shirt Deli found a unique way of offering their custom-made product to the masses. Then in 2006 they expanded North into Andersonville, taking over a cozy little space just off Clark Street at 1482 W. Berwyn.

In a recent email from The T-Shirt Deli owner Ninel Pompushko, it was announced that the Andersonville location would be shuttering its doors after 14 years of business. Northside residents will still be able to pick up their orders there through Feb. 20.

The original Bucktown location at 1739 N. Damen will remain open for business. Pompushko said that they will be focusing on their growing online business with expanded offerings.

The pandemic has been a nail in the coffin for many businesses, some that were already seeing red. With multiple stores closing on the Andersonville strip, we have also seen others taking flight in the neighborhood including the unique bodega Ándele at 5232 N Clark, the new location for Parson’s Chicken & Fish at 5721 N Clark, and Rattleback Records new expansion into 5407 N. Clark.

T-Shirt Deli’s management did say that they will be working on new ideas to continue serving the Andersonville community. Services such as their own delivery van have been discussed.
