After much anticipation for an ice cream and sweet shop to open in the Edgewater neighborhood, Lickety Split, located at 6056 N Broadway, has finally opened its doors to the public. With all these extreme warm temperatures, it couldn’t be a better time. The lofty, patriotic themed store offers frozen custard style variations, shakes, and malts. Currently they are only offering chocolate and vanilla in the ice cream form but the ones they are offering are still great. The texture in the ice cream is surprisingly smooth and silky with just the right amount of sweetness.

Not only that, but the shop also has a candy counter and offers baked pastries. Coffee and espresso will be served as well which will come in handy during the winter months, making this place a year round destination.

This was sorely needed in the Edgewater neighborhood, so Lickety Split quickly made its mark here. Come check it out soon during one of your post-dinner strolls or a day at the beach.

I have been their 2 times on and I am not impressed with them. They use pre-packaged custard ice cream (they same thing as DQ) and $7 for a sunday the size of a grape isn’t worth it. I would much rather just buy some Ben and Jerry’s from the store and get 3 times as much. I hope they improve.

Have we been to the same place? I just had a big sundae for under five bucks. Their concretes and cones are appropriate for the quality, and aren’t overpriced at all. And their treats (cupcakes, etc) are delicious. Three cheers.

I agree, I went a couple of weeks ago (during what I imagine was there “soft open”).
