Woman Carjacked In Edgewater Monday Afternoon

A woman was carjacked in broad daylight Monday afternoon as she exited her parked vehicle on a busy side street in Edgewater. Police are currently looking for the suspect.

Around 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, the 30-year-old victim had just parked her vehicle on the 5900 block of N. Kenmore near Thorndale and was approached by a man as she stepped out of the car.

The suspect informed the woman that he had a gun and demanded her belongings as well as the vehicle. He got into the the vehicle with her valuables and sped away northbound on Kenmore. The victim was not harmed in the incident.

According to police, the woman was driving a red Toyota Prius with black rims. There is also a Batman sticker on the back bumper and Georgia State Panthers and Oregon State Beavers stickers on the rear passenger window. The vehicle also has a Georgia specialty license plate with an image of a bald eagle.
