Vinosonic3
On Sunday, September 30th, the Experimental Sound Studio host their third annual fundraiser, Vinosonic, at the studio located at 5925 N Ravenswood. Sure to be a good time benefitting a good cause, Vinosonic features an eclectic and international selection of wines generously supplied by Andersonville’s In Fine Spirits (5418 N Clark), live improvised music by Jason Adasiewicz, Matt Clark, Dave Rempis and ESS’s own Adam Vida, as well as Sandra Binion‘s 4-channel video installation Vino. Tickets for the event, which runs from 3PM – 6PM, cost $25 in advance, or $30 at the door.
ESS Executive Director Lou Mallozzi tells us this of the event: “Funds raised will be for public presentation and outreach initiatives — performances, installations, exhibitions, workshops, and new educational projects. Our mission, as a nonprofit organization, is for the presentation, production, promotion, and preservation of innovative approaches to sound and music. We have an ongoing series of performances, installations and exhibitions; provide production services and support to local artists and independent producers; partner with other organizations on public programming and education; conduct workshops and outreach programs to teach new and innovative approaches to sound; and preserve important documents in the history of sound and music exploration in our Creative Audio Archive.”
