Urban Mischief Closing Choosing a Mobile Brand

Urban Mischief Closing

Yet another one of Andersonville’s unique shops is unfortunately closing its doors. Urban Mischief  at 5135 North Clark has issued a statement that they will leaving the brick and mortar shop, choosing to find an alternative. This comes on the heels of another closing, Haymaker at 5507 North Clark which similarly stated they would be also closing to pursue different options even after a successful year. As Andersonville/Edgewater has undergone a couple decades of steady popularity and gentrification, the smaller street-storefront businesses which gave the neighborhood its charm, are facing specific hurdles such as rent increases and online competition.

Owner of Urban Mischief, Shelly Elfstrom, explained where she was Headed, “Urban Mischief is not going away for good ~ we are transforming from a brick and mortar  into a more mobile brand.  Available immediately, we are joining forces and launching an exciting new bespoke haberdashery venture to the Chicago market,www.jhilburn.com.   Custom  men’s clothing in the finest Italian fabrics. You don’t have to leave home, let us come to you!”

For now, Urban Mischief is offering up to 75% off it’s store merchandise. They will be open tomorrow through Sunday, 12-5pm.
