Uncommon Ground Ranks In USA Today’s “Top 10” Chicago Healthy Menus

UNCOMMON-GROUND2If you know anything about Uncommon Ground at 1401 W Devon Ave, it’s that the food always seems to hit the spot. The cozy space with its warm fireplaces is a great place to sip one of their house-infused vodkas and relax. But what’s even more special is what’s on top. The roof that is. They use everything grown on their own certified organic rooftop farm (which is the nation’s first) as ingredients for the menu.

Now according to USA Today’s Top10.com, they have been ranked as one of Chicago’s healthiest dining menus.  Sitting at the #2 spot just below #1 Amitabul on N. Milwaukee, Uncommon Ground serves up a well rounded menu that caters to both vegetarians and carnivores.

Speaking their case for the Edgewater eatery, USA Today’s Megy Karydes says they are, “A combination of cozy coffee shop and gourmet restaurant, Uncommon Ground prides itself as “The Greenest Restaurant in America.” It serves delicious food made with locally grown and organic ingredients and its two locations have on-site gardens and patio seating.”

But it’s not just about the food here as they have regular featured artists showcased. They also open their back room regularly to emerging musical artists including Chicago’s very own Crystal Bowersox. Open for breakfast, brunch and dinner; Uncommon Ground offers you cuisine that you can feel good about.

Uncommon Ground’s sister location is located near Wrigley Field at 3800 N Clark St, Chicago.
