TPAN Moving to Uptown
Test Postitive Awareness Network (TPAN), one of Chicago’s oldest agencies devoted exclusively to HIV related services and a group that has long called Edgewater home, is moving to a new location in Uptown. The non-profit organization is moving just a few blocks south along Broadway to 5050 N Broadway, a building owned and managed by Imperial Realty. The office building was formerly the headquarters for Combined Insurance, a unit of AON, before the insurance giant moved employees downtown.
TPAN will close temporarily tomorrow, Friday, September 27th through Monday, September 30th for the move, and reopen at the new location on Tuesday, October 1st. The new office will be located on the third floor of 5050 N Broadway, and will provide the organization with much more space than its current location at more favorable rental rates. Founded in 1987, TPAN provides a wide spectrum of services such as HIV screening, counseling, group meetings, needle exchanges and prevention outreach.
According to 48th Ward Alderman Harry Osterman’s office, there are no known yet plans for what will become of TPAN’s former location at 5537 N Broadway (which is located just next door to the Alderman’s office).
