With any found pets, take them to a vet to have them scanned for a microchip. Most vets will do that for free. If they were originally adopted from a shelter, most shelters will take the animal back.

It would be really sad if people are abandoning their animals due to the economy.

It does seem like there are a lot lately that seems to be running around and I only know of one person posting on various places looking for their lost dog.

There seems to be an increase of pets being found wandering North Side neighborhoods. I wonder if people are simply abandoning their animals due to the economy (nothing would make me happier than to be proven wrong). This seems to be a trend. Am I the only one who feels this way?
