This Weekend’s EdgeFest Offers New Events Including The Pet Mayor Results

Edgewater is getting ready for this weekend’s EdgeFest which is bringing new programming to the event for everyone in the family including all your favorite pets.

The 2019 EdgeFest will take place on Broadway from Thorndale to Ardmore Saturday, August 3 from 12p.m.– 10p.m. and Sunday, August 4 from 12p.m.- 9p.m. Like a giant Summer block party, it plans to bring people together for entertainment, the food and of course the beer.

Entertainment this year includes Rod TuffCurls and the Bench Press, Catfight and appearances by the ever-popular Chicago Spirit Brigade. EdgeFest will kick off a new event with a neighborhood-friendly musical chairs competition on the South Stage on Saturday at noon. The complete entertainment line-up can be found here.

This year the fest is finding its niche with pet-friendly programming which includes the anticipated results of the first-ever Edgewater Pet Mayor contest. Will it be the goat, the cat or one of the four dogs? Who knows, but the real winner is Care For Real who will be receiving 100% of the funds raised from the contest.
