The man behind the four-plus-one?

Check out this blog entitled “a chicago sojurn” which explores architecture and urbanism around Chicago. The post that jumped out at me today was this one, The painted concrete artistry of Jerome Soltan, which explores the four-plus-one buildings throughout Edgewater which were almost all designed by Jerome Soltan. Four-plus-ones are apartment buildings that typically are five stories, but the ground floor is below grade and utilized as a lobby and parking area. Because of this, builders were able to build these buildings in areas zoned R5 and higher. What do you think of the four-plus-one???
