#ShopEdgewater Campaign Highlights Why We Love Shopping Local

shop_edgewater1As the temperatures start to drop, the pressures of holiday shopping rise.

The Edgewater Chamber of Commerce recently launched a social media campaign to keep local merchants at the top of mind for Edgewater residents. The #shopedgewater campaign features a daily photo of customers, staff, and owners of Edgewater businesses with a caption describing the subject’s favorite thing about supporting Edgewater businesses.

shop_edgewater4“The #shopedgewater campaign is a fun way to remind people that they don’t have to go far to find great gifts,” said Edgewater Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Katrina Balog. “When you spend money at your favorite locally-owned business, you’re ensuring the types of stores you want to shop at thrive in Edgewater.

The Edgewater Chamber of Commerce is also gearing up for Small Business Saturday on November 29. Small Business Saturday is a nationwide initiative to drive shop_edgewater2holiday shoppers to independent retailers, a reaction to Black Friday’s big box focus. Participating Edgewater businesses will have special offers, free swag, and discounts.
