What do you get when a detail- oriented, community-minded IT guy and former corporate road/plane warrior leaves the software business to become a Massage Therapist?

A refreshingly new spa-with a high tech twist, and a mission to take care of some of the city’s most stressed-out public servants.

Almost one year ago on July 2, 2012, Jim Jackowski opened Revive Massage Therapy & Spa at 4860 N Clark St, Chicago. The spa has a luxurious, high- priced feel, minus the high prices.

In his previous corporate life, Jackowski endured countless uncomfortable hours in cars and on planes. He relied on massage to relieve his aching neck and back.

“There wasn’t a nice place in the Andersonville/Edgewater/Uptown/Ravenswood communities for both men and women. I was tired of getting bad massages where it felt like someone was petting you and it turned into the longest hour of your life,” said Jackowski. He was also tired of paying outrageous prices at hotel spas, so Revive’s prices start at $40 for a 30 minute tune-up, $85 for an hour of deep tissue work, and top out at $120 for 90 minutes of Hot Stone therapy. The Revive Signature Facial is $75, the Ultimate 5-Star Facial is only $90, and the latest Wet/Dry Microdermabrasion treatment starts at $75 . Waxing services for both Men and Women are available, also at very fair and competitive prices.

Jackowski’s mission at Revive is to offer high quality, affordable massages, facials and waxing in a beautiful setting that rivals his higher priced competitors.

“The majority of people are stressed out due to the economy, their jobs, or personal family/health issues,” said Jackowski, ”Affording a massage shouldn’t add to that stress.” The response from the community has been overwhelming.  Revive has provided over 4,000 Massages and 600 facials in just 1 year, and they say they are not even close to reaching their capacity.

Jackowski, who once worked as a public school teacher, has also set up a Giving Back Program. Teachers, Police, Firefighters and members of the Military get an automatic 15% discount on all 90 minute massages.

“These are some of the hardest working, stressed out and underpaid individuals, and we wanted to thank them for their service,” said Jackowski.

Revive has also donated numerous services to charitable organizations in the surrounding Communities such as The Ride For AIDS Chicago, American Juvenile Diabetes Association, Alzheimers Association, AIDS Legal Council of Chicago, American Cancer Society, and the Children’s Organ Transplant Association.

Jackowski is a detail man, and he’s designed every bit of this luxurious spa–from the peaceful beige and caramel color scheme to the luxurious fixtures.  Customers can also use their high tech scheduling/reservation system via the web or a mobile app (for iPhone and Android users) to schedule appointments or purchase gift certificates at any time, from anywhere. He also takes care of his Massage Therapists, so they can best take care of you. Most spas require therapists to perform up to 8 massages a day. Therapists at Revive can do a maximum of 4, so clients are guaranteed a quality massage from a pair of strong hands.

Revive is open Monday-Friday 10am- 9pm and 10am – 8pm on Sat/Sun.  For more info check out www.revivemassagechicago.com or follow them on their Facebook page.
