summer48th Ward Alderman Harry Osterman launched a new initiative this year dubbed “Summer Nights” – a schedule of events throughout the summer for residents to enjoy.  Over 70 events were hosted, and numerous community organizations, businesses and residents participated.  Some examples of the events include the Argyle Night Market in Uptown, Chalk the Block on Berwyn, bike rides throughout the ward and movie nights.

“The 48th Ward had a positive and memorable summer this year,” Osterman stated.  “As part of our first-ever Summer Nights initiative, over 70 events were held to help create a positive, safe and fun summer for all ages. I want to thank the many volunteers, community organizations and residents who brought these events to life. The goals of the these events were to build community, meet new neighbors and improve safety.”
