My rescue dog is from Oklahoma. Thanks to both organizations for bringing us these great dogs from horrible beginnings. Buck is now a well adjusted Chicagoan!

Yes I do. My partner often volunteers at the shelter and we have adopted our dog from there too. The staff are always wonderful and they have a really terrific selection of animals. New dogs come in multiple times a week (dogs are adopted very quickly there)–usually from crowded and in-humane shelters in Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Cats live in a large communal area on the second floor. As to be expected, all animals are spayed, neutered, heartworm tested and vet-checked when they arrive.

You are right! I have heard wonderful things about their shelters. Perhaps we can spotlight them in a few months. Do you have experience with them?

You should have also mentioned Felines and Canines located at 6379 N. Paulina. They are one of the best shelters in the city and a tremendous resource to the Edgewater/Andersonville/Rogers Park neighborhoods.
