Owners of Old Turkish Cuisine Restaurant Open New Spot In Andersonville With Upgraded Menu

It has been three years since the old Turkish Cuisine restaurant at Clark and Bryn Mawr left Andersonville for W Devon due to a dispute with their landlord. However, after many dedicated customers expressed sorrow over the departure the owners have moved back to the area with a fresh concept which includes an expanded menu and more elegant decor.

The new restaurant at 5657 N Clark which is called Oda Mediterranean Cuisine will not only continue serving the standard Turkish dishes, they will also be adding many seafood choices such as grilled calamari and grilled octopus. Owners of the restaurant, Marina Cardak and her daughter Tamta Meladze have brought life to the old Leonardo’s Italian-American Ristorante space providing guests authentic food with an enhanced presentation and menu.

Born in Georgia, which is located North of Turkey and sits at the intersection of Europe and Asia, Cardak started in the restaurant business to share her love of cooking and and to showcase the flavor of the Ottoman kitchen. The authentic cooking brings together the eclectic food traditions of the Turkey and its neighboring mediterranean nations including France, the Middle East, Italy and their home country of Georgia.

“We rebranded the restaurant and have taken it to the next level,” said Meladze. “We love being back in Andersonville. The people here are so wonderful and there is so much more foot traffic then where we were at for the past three years. We opened on Friday and have already had many people come back to see us.”

According to Meladze, they are currently seeking a liquor license in hopes to start stocking the beautiful wood bar tucked away on the side of the restaurant. So for now they are BYOB. Plans are in the works to also add outdoor sidewalk seating for guests this summer.

Oda Mediterranean Cuisine will be serving both brunch and dinner and offer family-style serving options. They are open Tuesday-Thursday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. – 11 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 11 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., and they are closed on Mondays.
