Jim D. could teach classes on how to select employees, develop an effective team, keep customers happy, fix errors, freshen up a menu, and keep quality high. Its employees are not just generic labor units who float around among the many restaurants nearby. Some have been on Jim’s team for quite a few years and are still doing great work; I enjoy seeing them and they’ve taken great care of us as customers. Chipotle should have chosen somewhere else to poach employees from.
