New Andersonville Brewery In Time for Craft Beer Week

Chicago is celebrating its love for craft brews from May 15 through May 25 with Chicago Craft Beer Week 2014. This year’s theme is “Chicago: A City of Neighborhoods” to honor Chicago’s individual communities and explore the many craft brews offered all around the city.  This will be the fifth year for CCBW  and there are  activities and events happening in every neighborhood. The event is intended to entice participants to explore and enjoy the many local beers available and learn more about our emerging craft brew scene. For those who speak social media, you can stay up to date with events all week long at #CCBW. There will be prizes awarded daily to anyone who posts pictures to Instagram using the #CCBW hashtag.

EmpiricalBreweryJust in time for Chicago’s Craft Beer Week 2014 is an addition to our own area, Empirical Brewery. With a deep passion and knowledge of the history of beer-making, Empirical thrives on feedback to drive continual improvements to their vast selection of tasty brews. Located at 1801 W. Foster, just west of the Metra tracks, they source all ingredients locally, and grow what they can on their rooftop. The brewery will start brewing next week, and is hoping to have beer in local bars and restaurants by mid June. The tasting room will open shortly after everything is up and running.  “Our neighbors are our partners, and we look for meaningful collaboration with local farmers, chefs, brewers, and others in our community,” says the head brew master Art Steinhoff. Welcome to our neighborhood Empirical Brewery!

There will be a great deal of special tastings, offerings and tours throughout the week. We went ahead and highlighted below the fun-filled beer gatherings in our area. See the full schedule and listings here.
