Murray and White Opens On The Andersonville Strip

MurrayWhiteIn keeping with the Andersonville tradition, Murray & White Home Interiors adds a unique dynamic to the Clark Street corridor. What started as a love of design and decorating flourished into a bright reality for owners Travis White and JT Murray. Inspired by their visits to a home furnishings store in Texas, they envisioned creating their very own store close to home. Being residents of the neighborhood for many years, Travis and JT saw both a need and an opportunity to provide a home furnishings store that offered new, traditional-style furnishings which complemented the richness of the neighborhood.

In regards to their unique style, co-owner Travis White said, “we offer new home accessories and accent furniture in a traditional aesthetic.  While we appreciate mid-century, rustic and modern design elements, our home and personal style leads more towards a traditional feel, and we felt that was missing from the neighborhood.” He continued, “many of our items make great gifts for weddings, house warming’s, hostess presents or really almost any occasion.   We also have a small selection of antiques called our ‘Acquisitions Collection’ which are a great compliment to the new accessories we offer.”

When opening their store, Travis and JT knew they were a good fit when both customers and business owners alike warmly greeted and welcomed them to the neighborhood. This generosity demonstrated the true pride and warmth of the neighborhood, something they hope to return to their neighbors and customers. Mr. White stated, “for us, Andersonville has always been a destination for home furnishings and as residents of Edgewater, it was just the natural choice.  We love this neighborhood and the sense of community. We’re very proud and grateful to be a part of it.”

Please join in celebrating their grand opening this upcoming Saturday (from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m) and Sunday (from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Murray & White is located at 5416 N. Clark St., just north of Balmoral Avenue. Travis and JT are excited to share their store of traditional styles and unique gifts.
