The Edgewater Development Corporations’s Spotlight on Edgewater is inviting the community to attend free performances of Mozart’s timeless opera, The Magic Flute, on Monday March 5th and Tuesday March 6th. This particular production is a creation of Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, and is set to be directed by Andrew Eggert. Student members of the Roosevelt CCPA Orchestra will provide the opera’s signature music, and the EDC reports that “more than 50 students in Roosevelt’s CCPA Orchestra, its undergraduate and graduate voice performance program and the CCPA-Chicago Opera Theatre Diploma Program, which provides post-degree training for opera stars of the future, will participate in the production.” Senn High School is located at 5900 N. Glenwood, and performance of The Magic Flute are scheduled to run from 7:30 to 9:30 PM on both dates.
