It’s ironic that these bland modern structures were supposed to be more “efficient” and cheaper to operate than their highly embellished pre-war predecessors, but have become even more expensive to run per square foot than the beautiful high rises built in the 20s.

If you’ve ever toured the units, they are well-designed and well-proportioned and even more appealing as duplexes. As that association continues to improve the building, this “brutalist” building could turn into a classic.
