Please remember that the Edgewater Beach Apartments that you write about, was never the hotel, contrary to the headlines and the story; The Edgewater Beach Hotel’s first building was opened in 1916, with a second building to its south opened in 1924. They were located where the current Breakers is located and were torn down 1971. The Edgewater Beach Apartments was built as such and opened in 1928; all 3 of the buildings were designed by the famed architect Benjamin Marshall. We welcome all to come to our exhibit about the opening centennial of the Edgewater Beach Hotel, June 4, 2016. We look forward to a great year of visitors to our museum and a number of intresting tours and programs. (Edgewater History Museum – 5358 N.
