LEN: Curtains Up For Restored Senn Campus Auditorium

Students, faculty, alumni, parents, VIPs, local elected officials and community members gathered last Friday evening for the unveiling of the newly restored Senn Campus Auditorium, and by all accounts, opening night was a smash.

Like an aging screen siren, the auditorium at Nicholas Senn High School at 5900 N. Glenwood Ave. had seen better days. The wooden seats were cracked. The sight lines were lousy. A boom box and bed sheet had to do for a sound system and movie screen, a sad decline for a once proud performance space that was the rave of the North Side when the school opened its doors in Edgewater in 1911.
