Two Awesome Edgeville Buzzers Kill a Margarita

For almost 25 years now, Cesars, home of the self proclaimed killer margaritas has served up traditional Mexican food to the North side of Chicago. Two locations are already serving the Lakeview community  are located at 3166 N Clark and 2924 N Broadway. Now they have decided to give it a go in Andersonville at 5403 N Clark at Balmoral.

Having just opened this week, they started business quietly on the strip with anticipation that the Edgewater fanbase would continue what the Lakeview restaurants started. The space though, seems haunted by margaritas past! Angels, which was a local favorite Mexican restaurant occupied the property for years until it abruptly closed several years ago. In its place came another eatery serving up the same cuisine, La Cocina de Frida. Unfortunately, they were not able to create the loyal base they were hoping for. Cesars is banking that third times the charm.

Cesars is best known for the more festive style atmosphere as opposed to its food. The margaritas steal the show here with flavors such as banana, mango, guava and peach just to name a few.  There are a few food specialties that their customers seem inclined to order such as the fire roasted salsa, nachos and guacamole.

The space is significantly smaller than the other two locales, but if you don’t already know, the outdoor patio is awesome. Grape vines cover trellises that shade you from the sun in the day and provide a romantic evenings by night. A large bar now occupies a large part of the dining area with televisions to make a good new watching ground for World Cup Soccer or any other sport you want to see.

With PRIDE just around the corner, they are displaying rainbow flags in support. I have a feeling we will see a few margaritas being toasted as well.
