In Fine Spirits (5418 N Clark) is under new ownership today, as long time store manager Jarran Conger and his wife Wesley have purchased the business from former owners Jill and Shane Kissack, who first opened the bottle shop 7.5 years ago.  In an email to customers, the new owners assure that IFS will remain the “same old place,”  and outgoing owners Jill and Shane left a departing message explaining the reasoning behind the transition.

“While IFS has provided us with so much to be grateful for, eventually  two kids, a job and ‘life’ moved us away from Andersonville to SW  Michigan.  For me, giving up my somewhat regular involvement with IFS  was not easy but I believe strongly that Michigan is where my family and  I are meant to be for this time in our lives.

As such, Shane and I are closing our IFS chapter.   As of Monday, In Fine Spirits is blessed to have Jarran and Wesley Conger as the new owners and a continued presence in the A-ville neighborhood!    If I have to pass IFS to anyone–these are the best people I can  think of to do so.    I wish them success and hope IFS brings them as  much joy as it did Shane and I.

My only regret now: having to pay retail prices for my wine consumption.“
