From the Andersonville South Neighborhood Association:
One of Andersonville’s most fun and popular events—the Happy Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade & Costume Contest—returns Saturday, Oct. 30. Registration opens at 12:30 p.m. The parade starts at 1:30 in the fenced area at the corner of Ravenswood and Carmen and heads east on Carmen.

Cash prizes, including $50 for Best of Show, will be awarded. Twenty-five dollars will be awarded for scariest, funniest, most original, best pet/owner costume combo, and best entry from owner age 12 and under. Ben Hollis, beloved urban adventurer and Chicago TV legend (Wild Chicago, Ben Loves Chicago, Ben Around Town), is the emcee. Refreshments will be available.

There is a registration fee of $5 per dog (humans free). The fee includes three raffle tickets. Onlookers welcome! Bring a chair and a friend.

Now in its 6th year, the event is sponsored by the Andersonville Neighborhood Association (ASNA) with proceeds going to its Beautification Fund. For more info, including an entry form, see the ASNA website at www.asnachicago.org or call 773 989 4514.
