From the Chicago Sun Times:
August 25, 2010

A firefighter was injured while battling an overnight blaze in the North Side’s Edgewater neighborhood but he is back home recovering Wednesday morning.

The fire started at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday at a 2-story residential building at 6138 N. Clark St., according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Richard Rosado. The dimensions of the building on fire are 25 by 50.

Crews used two hose lines to douse the flames and it was extinguished by about midnight, according to Rosado.

One firefighter was transported to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, initially in serious condition as a precaution, but he is back home as of 7:30 a.m. after suffering chest pains, Rosado said.

No one else was injured, and no working smoke detectors were found in the building.
