Thorndale Avenue hosted the Edgewater Arts Festival on Saturday, a change from previous years when it was held at Berger Park along the lake.  The event kicked off at 11AM, just as rain started to fall, but it was a brief drizzle and the remainder of the afternoon stayed dry (although humid and muggy).

Organizied by the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce and Edgewater Artists in Motion, the festival spanned from Broadway to Winthrop and featured over 50 artists, live entertainment, food vendors and a children’s area hosted by Senator Heather Steans.  All in all it was a great event, and we were happy to see such a positive event and all the area neighbors out on the street of Thorndale!

Great event. Sure hope it continues and gets bigger.

Fell in love with more pieces than I could afford to buy.  I promise to save up all year if the Chamber promises to do it again.

It will return next year.  There was a lot of good, positive buzz about it.  Will be handled by a special events planner next time with more music and probably alcohol allowed.

The event definitely had the positive community vibe found in our neighborhood. I wish it were monthly! Music, food, alcohol, etc., would all be amazing additions. One step at a time, I guess, and I did love it as it is. Went back twice in one day actually.
