Details about Edgewater’s new branch library emerge

Wednesday night’s 48th Ward Construction and CTA Meeting at the Broadway Armory saw a good number of people in attendance, eager to hear all about the new Chicago Public Library branch planned for the intersection of Broadway and Elmdale. Alderman Harry Osterman opened the meeting, introducing the Public Building Commission of Chicago’s Executive Director, Erin Cabonargi.

Cabonargi didn’t waste any time in getting down to the what’s what in terms of the library’s construction. The new branch will be the largest neighborhood library in Chicago. It will occupy the same general real estate at the intersection where the previous, much smaller branch stood. Many will be relieved to hear that Patio Beef
