CTA / Traffic Meeting

At the request of ASCO representatives who attended the presentation on the Berwyn Multi-Modal center, Ald. Mary Ann Smith has scheduled a conversation with the CTA with respect to the buses at Foster and Sheridan.
The meeting will be March 18, Wednesday 6:00 PM, at the Ward office (5533 N. Broadway) with proposed agenda:
1. What buses and bus lines stop at Foster and Sheridan and idle, and why.

2. What are the issues this presents for the community
3. What solutions are in discussion, what impact would they have
4. Open discussion/ideas

The ASCO leadership had a commitment from previous developers of the Dominick’s Sheridan/Foster development to include a bus by-pass in their design if they could obtain the Motel property. The Alderman signed on to this commitment. Now that the Dominick’s corporation owns the property and the Motel property, the bypass is not being included. Instead, there is talk of the excess land being used for expansion of the Saddle and Cycle Country Club parking lot on the east. Crain’s reports that the excess property on the North will be sold to a developer for a 400 unit residential development.
